A tense and stressful, once in a lifetime aspect has been building over the past few months between Jupiter in Virgo, Saturn in Sagittarius, and Neptune in Pisces. These three slow moving planets have come into a T-square (two squares and an opposition). And now, in the empty quadrant, the quicker moving sun, moon, and Venus align together, exactly, today (June 4th), so that the New Moon conjunct Venus completes the auspicious Grand Square (see the square in the chart above).
The T-square that’s been building for a few months has been increasing the stress in our lives, bringing in new and difficult circumstances, and revealing those areas of our lives that contradict one another. One part of ourselves wants to go in one direction, while another aspect wants to go a different way. This New Moon is the culmination of this pattern; a moment when we can no longer deny that something must shift.
The Grand Square occupies the mutable signs, Virgo, Sagittarius, Gemini, and Pisces. (If you know your birth chart, look to these signs for insight into the areas of your life that are at odds with one another). Mutability is the key. Aspects of our lives, or patterns of thought and behaviour, may be deconstructing or falling apart around us in order to make way for something new. There must be death in order for rebirth.
While most likely experienced as stressful, this is a beautiful moment of evolution. The world is changing. We are changing. It’s only human to resist change, to hold onto the past, to what we know. But there’s no growth there. It’s scary to move forward, into the unknown, because we don’t know it! But that’s also where adventure lies.
We have no choice but to change. We must adapt or else circumstances will shift around us without our consent. In other words: change, or be changed. We can move through this energy with grace by consciously choosing something different, or we will be forced to change while stubbornly holding to the past as the world changes around us.
We all know that we humans can’t go on living as we do if we want to survive. I believe this is a moment in which we are shifting into new patterns that are more sustainable. The evolution occurs in all areas of life, from our thought patterns, to our work life, to our relationships. The change involves care for the Earth, of course, but it goes much deeper, affecting the very core of our being, our thought structures, our political structures--everything.
Some of us are coming to realize that our work lives, as they are, can’t be reconciled with our spirits; or that the relationships we are in no longer support our growth; or that the way in which we think about money is no longer in alignment with our evolution.
The solution is not necessarily to breakup, or leave a job--although it may be! Seek creative solutions. Perhaps you can cut back on hours at work, or seek couples counselling, or let go of outdated patterns of thought. Find a way to reconcile those aspects of your life that seem to contradict one another. Seek to restructure the patterns of your life.
You will see in the chart, that behind the square, there is an equilateral triangle: a Grand Earth Trine between Jupiter in Virgo, Pluto in Capricorn, and Mercury in Taurus. This is a harmonious, free flowing, earth energy that supports us to be practical and grounded. When feeling the stress and tension these days, look to the earth for support. Enjoy the simple things, sit on the grass, water a plant, be in nature, or do the dishes! These simple things will keep us grounded in these times of change.
Keep in mind that usually, what life throws at us, is for the sake of our growth, learning, and evolution. Much love and blessings to you. I wish you Joy and Insight in this time of change.
